Check Spotify track availability by country

A track may play in one country and be unavailable in another. A market comparison can help before travel, when sharing music with friends abroad, or when investigating missing songs in a playlist. Choose markets such as India, Egypt, Turkey, the United States or Kazakhstan and compare Spotify’s responses in one table.

Read the results

Available means Spotify confirmed playability for that market. Unavailable means the API returned a negative answer; a restriction reason is shown when supplied. Unknown means the response is insufficient to draw a conclusion. Country totals keep these categories separate. A playable alternative version counts as available.

Playlist rows preserve order and repeated entries. Local files, podcasts and removed entries are not labelled as blocked songs. If a check is interrupted, totals cover completed rows only, not the entire playlist.

How the region checker works

The tool queries the official Spotify Web API with market and reads is_playable. Country comparisons use an application token because the account country in a user token can take precedence over a requested market. The checker does not use available_markets to determine results.

Track relinking can return an alternative version of a recording. The checker identifies the replacement and links to the returned track. Development Mode responses may omit linked_from, so requested and returned IDs are also compared. If playlist contents already contain a relinked version without its original ID, that response cannot reveal the original release.

Data source and limitations

Results reflect the catalog at request time, not a guarantee of future availability. Playlist access depends on the Spotify app’s permissions. If a playlist is inaccessible, try a direct track link. Requests run sequentially to reduce API load, with a maximum of 200 entries and 8 markets. The service does not retain results after a request.

Spotify availability FAQ

How can I check which countries a Spotify track is available in?

Copy a track link, paste it above and select countries. The tool queries Spotify separately for each market and reports availability at the time of the check. If the API does not provide a definite answer, the result is marked “Unknown”.

What does “Available · alternative version” mean?

Spotify may return an available alternative version of the same recording through track relinking. We compare requested and returned IDs and use linked_from when present. This does not prove the original release is available: follow the cell link for the returned version.

Why can a public playlist be unavailable to the checker?

A public link does not guarantee API access. In Development Mode, Spotify limits playlist contents to playlists owned by or shared with the authorized user. This tool does not ask you to sign in. Reading arbitrary public playlists depends on app permissions, particularly Extended Quota Mode.

Does “Unknown” mean the track is blocked?

No. It means there is no definite API answer, a request failed, or the entry is removed, local or unsupported. Unknown entries are counted separately and are not treated as confirmed regional restrictions.

Does this guarantee playback on my account?

No. The result describes the catalog response for a selected market. Account country, subscription, explicit-content settings and licensing changes may also affect playback. This tool does not change your account region or bypass restrictions.

Why is the check slow or interrupted?

Every track requires a separate request for every country. Spotify rate limits requests. On a 429 response the tool stops and displays a waiting time. Completed rows remain visible as partial results. Try fewer countries or an individual track.
